NYPD sergeant humiliated as cops catch one one of their own in station sex sting

An NYPD sergeant was caught masturbating with other men inside a train station bathroom by other cops during a sting, police said. 

Michael Merritt, 41, was caught in the lewd act at Penn Station by the Amtrak Police Department on September 3, according to the authorities.

His arrest came during a targeted operation of a bathroom known for inappropriate behavior, the New York Post reported. 

Merritt is now on modified assignment, an NYPD spokesperson told Daily Mail.  

‘The incident is under internal review,’ the NYPD spokesperson added.

It’s unclear if charges have been filed against the officer at this time. 

Merritt joined the force in 2006, according to the Post. He made $134,000 in 2024, records show. 

Penn Station has previously been the site of safety concerns within the transit system. Last year a man was burned alive inside the train terminal.

The 67-year-old man was found on fire near the entrance of the subway and was left with serious injuries on his legs and upper body.

Penn Station – known formerly as Pennsylvania Station – opened in 1910 and was known for his magnificent architecture. 

The station was eventually knocked down to build Madison Square Garden, but the train lines still run underneath.
