Beverly Hills security expert claims he warned Charlie Kirk of grave danger at a future college speaking event

Charlie Kirk had discussed safety measures with a famed California security expert just six months before his assassination, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The 31-year-old conservative influencer was fatally shot in the neck Wednesday afternoon while addressing the crowd about mass shootings during a rally at Utah Valley University.

Kris Herzog, owner of The Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills – a firm that has worked with numerous celebrities and high-profile clients – spoke with the Turning Point USA founder during a rally at California State University on March 6.

He claimed he had warned the MAGA leader that he would ‘100 percent be killed at one of his upcoming university speaking events’ unless he took drastic precautions.

Although Herzog said Kirk promised to consider his safety recommendations and follow up, the call never came – something that now haunts the security expert.

‘Sadly he never got back to me and now my prediction of his murder has come true,’ Herzog told the Daily Mail.

Following what Utah Governor Spencer Cox called a ‘political assassination,’ haunting video footage emerged showing a figure lying flat on a rooftop just moments before Kirk was shot – then frantically fleeing as chaos erupted below.

In the immediate aftermath, local police and security protocols came under intense scrutiny, as witnesses reported a complete lack of security measures at the event.

Herzog told the Daily Mail that officers who work with him had advised him to reach out to Kirk earlier this year, concerned about his frequent appearances and growing political profile.

Specifically, the expert claimed that the authorities’ urgency arose from the shared belief that ‘everyone in my group felt that his security was not even close to what it should be and he was in grave danger of being shot and killed at one of his upcoming events.’

Having worked with high-profile clients like Kim Kardashian and Sharon Stone, Herzog said he provided Kirk with several recommendations to help prevent what he saw as a very real and possible threat.

According to the expert, some of his proposals included using portable ‘B7 level’ ballistic bulletproof glass panels to protect Kirk from potential sniper attacks.

‘I told him that a sniper would probably go for a headshot, which means it was of critical importance to have the ballistic glass,’ Herzog said.

He also advised the conservative activist to hire off-duty police officers for his events, specifically to monitor and secure all potential sniper vantage points at each speaking location.

‘We recommended using metal detectors and handheld wands to screen everyone for a gun within 700 hundred feet of where Charlie would be speaking,’ Herzog recalled.

Mark Wilson, a colleague of Herzog who also attended Kirk’s March 6 rally, claimed that he had also spoken with the father-of-two directly.

‘We are huge Turning Point fans, being conservatives, and we’d discussed the lack of security because he’s up close with these nutcase kids and doesn’t appear that he ever wears a bullet proof vest,’ Wilson told the Daily Mail.

‘It’s super sad what has happened,’ he added.

The experts’ concerns proved justified after dozens of attendees described the glaring lack of security, saying it ‘felt off’ for a public event featuring someone as controversial as Kirk.

‘I was expecting when I got here that I’d have to pass through some kind of security, but that just wasn’t a thing,’ witness Tyler McGettigan told NBC News.

McGettigan arrived at Wednesday’s rally equipped with a valid ticket featuring a scannable code, yet remarkably, his ticket went unchecked as he entered the amphitheater where Kirk was scheduled to speak.

‘No one checked the barcode or the QR code,’ he told the outlet. ‘There was no checkpoint to get in. It was literally anyone could walk in if they wanted.’

Justin Hickens, who said he was about 20 yards from the shooting, told NBC there were no metal detectors at the event entrance. The only security he observed was a small group of personnel stationed near Kirk himself.

Another attendee, Raydon Dechene, echoed concerns about the minimal security, noting that there were no bag checks – a detail that ‘felt off’ to him, as reported by CNN.

During a press conference, University Police Chief Jeff Long described the event as taking place ‘in kind of a bowl area here on the central campus,’ where Kirk was positioned in a lower section surrounded by buildings.

In addition to Kirk’s personal security team, plainclothes police officers were already present within the crowd.

However, officials confirmed that just six officers were assigned to the campus event, which drew a crowd of approximately 3,000 people.

‘We trained for these things. And you think you have things covered. And these things, unfortunately, they happen. You try to get your bases covered,’ Long said during the conference.

‘And unfortunately, today we didn’t, and because of that, we had this tragic incident,’ he added.

Kirk was rushed to a local hospital after the shooting, where he succumbed to his injuries less than five hours later.

Authorities have since confirmed that 71-year-old George Zinn, who was taken into custody immediately after the shooting, was not the shooter. Another man, Zachariah Qureshi, who was also detained and questioned, has been released as well.

FBI agents are now working with the local police to track down the killer, as Gov. Cox suggested the murderer may face the death penalty.
